Jen welcomes Labour Shadow Minister to discuss local maternity services

Oliver Davis

Jen welcomed Labour’s Shadow Minister for Primary Care and Patient Safety, Feryal Clark MP, to Thurrock to listen to the experiences of women who have given birth at Basildon. The services there have been rated inadequate and even unsafe by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Thurrock women and their babies deserve better.

Recently, the use of gas and air has been suspended, causing real distress to women who were planning on giving birth there. I will continue to fight hard on this local issue. As a um who made the decision to transfer to Southend Hospital in my last pregnancy because of safely fears, I completely understand what local women are going through.

I would like hear ore about the experiences of local women at Basildon hospital, please fill out my survey here and help me to improve services at our local hospital.
