Thurrock Tories’ mismanagement of our council’s finances has resulted in the worst financial crisis ever seen in British local government. Their disastrous investment strategy, coupled with wasting millions on their vanity town hall extension (£20 million over budget) A13 widening (£45 million overspend) has bankrupted the council.
The impact on local people will soon become clear. The Tories are now looking at a huge hike in council tax and cuts to local services like bin collections, libraries and education.
The same people who got us into this mess are now in charge of cleaning up the mess. The choice for local people is clear. Don’t let them get away with it – vote Labour in the local elections on 4th May.
